How does this program work?

As soon as you purchase access to this program, you will be given specific instructions to connect with Audrey Sourroubille Arnold to get your testing form and testing instructions. Then you follow the instructions, send the hair sample requested, and we get results within 10 days upon receipt of your sample.

At that point, when you chose the option that include coaching sessions, we schedule your first 30-minute coaching/consulting session to review your results and discuss recommendations with regards to nutrition, lifestyle and supplements. The call is recorded and provided to you as well as testing results and interpretations.

You also get started on the elimination diet program that is adapted based on your results, and you get a weekly 30-min call with Audrey to discuss progress, questions, etc.

When you don't, I'll send you the results with the recommendations and the seasonal recipes

"This testing was incredibly beneficial. I knew there was something in my diet which was bothering me and this test really helped. Plus I love the recommendations from Audrey and the recipes." Martha L.

Allergy or intolerance? The difference between allergies and intolerances

What you need to know.

An intolerance is when the body reacts in a negative way when exposed to certain items. This should not be confused with an allergy, which is a more severe reaction and tends to be lifelong condition.

Define an intolerance?

An intolerance is the body’s inability to digest an item properly, whether this is a food intolerance or an environmental factor (a non-food intolerance). Intolerances can occur due to a number of reasons, the two most common are:

  • The body is lacking the necessary digestive enzymes(s) for the certain food and therefore cannot digest the item properly or efficiently take the nutrients from it. A sensitivity resulting from over-consumption or overexposure.
  • Many symptoms are the result of a sensitivity to a particular item. A sensitivity can occur from overconsumption or overexposure of an item.

Allergy or Intolerance. What’s the difference?

In most cases, allergies are mainly hereditary and you have for life. An intolerance on the other hand can and does change depending on diet and lifestyle. You can work with your intolerances to reduce them and even eliminate them.

Detecting allergies

Allergies are detected by measuring the Immunoglobulin E count (IgE) in the blood, as these are specific blood cells that help to combat allergies. If you have an allergy to a particular food or non-food item, your body will begin to react the moment it comes into contact with it.

Common allergic reactions can include localised swelling (i.e. of the throat or tongue), a rash, or difficulty breathing. Peanut, shellfish, egg and soya are among some of the most common allergens.

By comparison, an intolerance is not as severe and immediate as an allergy. These symptoms come on gradually; anything from 30 minutes up to a 48 hours later. These symptoms might include headaches, bloating, localised itching or skin irritations such as eczema, excessive mucous production, excessive gas, diarrhoea, and fatigue.

Diagnosing allergies

The most common method of diagnosing allergies is with a simple blood test, usually testing the IgE or IgG levels in the blood. IgE allergies are immediate responses to a foreign substance that has entered the body. These foreign substances can come from food or can come from inhalation. IgE allergies can cause very serious symptoms like difficulty breathing, swelling, and hives. In even more serious cases IgE reactions can lead to anaphylactic shock.

IgG4 food sensitivities are generally less severe than IgE food sensitivities and typical symptoms can include; headaches and nausea, seizures and hyperactivity. These may occur hours or even days after the offending food has been ingested. The degree and severity of symptoms vary because of the genetic makeup of the individual. IgG4 food sensitivities are generally treated by removing problem foods from the diet and by helping digestion with probiotics.

"Great recommendations! I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t understand the results, or be able to apply the recommendations, but the guide is very helpful and it’s split into easy to understand areas to help me understand my body better. The seasonal recipes are great too." Kathy A.

"I’ve recommended all my friends to do this test and the interpretation of results with Audrey. It's such great information, and Audrey is so knowledgeable!" Sofia S.

Food sensitivity: Understand more about your body and wellness

Food Sensitivity. Understanding more.

Food sensitivities, also known as ‘intolerances’ can be a pain, literally, and are much more common than you think, far more common than a food allergy. This is mainly due to the fact that it is easy to dismiss the symptoms as something else because the onset of symptoms is usually slower, and may be delayed by several hours, sometimes up to 48, after eating the culprit food.

To make things even more confusing, two people may be sensitive to the same food but experience different symptoms.  People can usually tolerate a reasonable amount of the food that they are sensitive to, but if they eat too much they will get symptoms because their body cannot tolerate certain amounts.  Food sensitivities can even trigger the onset of a chronic illness or make symptoms worse which is why it is important to get tested.

After identifying the foods that you are sensitive to, it is important to eliminate these foods from your diet for at least a month before you start introducing it back into your diet.  We would advise that you slowly re-introduce the culprit food back into your diet so that you can gauge how much of the food your body can tolerate before the symptoms kick in.

Once you receive your results, you can seek advice from our in-house nutritionist who will help you take the next step in taking back control of your health and diet.  They can help you ensure your body is still getting all the nutrients it needs through alternative sources if you do need to eliminate a certain food or food group from your diet.

"After the results I had, I wanted to get my family tested. Audrey ordered the tests for them and our last session was to review the recommendations for our whole family. So useful! Now I know what to cook for us all so that it helps my kids to be more focused at school, my husband at work, and me working on my business from home." Daniela R.

"I can only recommend the testing. There were so many ah-ah moments for me when reviewing the results with Audrey. Many of the symptoms I didn't even noticed I had disappeared as I implemented the changes she recommended. Already by the time we had our last session together, my weight was down by 2kg without me having done anything but the switches she recommended. I cannot thank her enough, and you should definitely go for this program!" Tanya L.

Intolerance Symptoms. Symptoms of a Food Intolerance.

If you think you may have a food intolerance, then you will be wanting to understand what it is doing to your body and whether your symptoms are related to your intolerance. There are some symptoms which are very common to food intolerances, and some which can be a sign of many different conditions. This makes it all the more important to truly identify the root cause.

So, in light of this, at Test Your Intolerance we have put together some information you will find interesting on the causes of a food intolerance and what symptoms are caused. Identifying intolerances and discovering what your symptoms mean can release a weight off your shoulders. Below are just some of the symptoms that a food intolerance can cause:

  • Bloat
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Fatigue
  • Migraines and headaches
  • Skin rashes and eczema
  • Vomiting and nausea

Are you experiencing these symptoms regularly? You should consider keeping a food diary so that you can monitor which foods are causing you troublesome symptoms. This will help you to link your diet with your symptoms, and these can be measured overall rather than in isolation.

At present you have to pay the cost of the postage back to the processing centre in the UK. Please ensure the correct postage amount has been paid as we are not liable for any extra charges.

How much should postage cost?

When you send your samples to the TYI labs, please remember to attach the correct postage amount to your envelope or outer wrap. My hair is dyed. Will this affect the results?

No, the test is completed on the composition of the hair sample so hair colouring will have no effect on the result.

How do I take a hair sample?

The safest way to take a hair sample is to ask someone else to help you. First brush your hair upwards to reveal the root area at the back of the head, then holding a small amount of hair between the finger and thumb, cut the hair as close to the scalp as possible (without drawing blood). If you do not have anyone to help you, using a mirror may help ensure you avoid injury.

My hair is very short, can you still complete the tests?

The hair sample does not have to be from the head; TYI labs can test hair from any part of the body including leg, arm or chest.

How much hair do I have to provide?

Only a small amount – 5 individual strands of hair. We do not require clumps of hair.

Where are the tests processed?

All tests are processed at our testing facility in the UK. Once the hair sample has been received at our testing facility you will receive your results within 7 working days.

Can you do a test on my child?

We cannot test children under the age of six years old.

Can I include my partner and children in the testing?

Yes, upon request you'll pay only the extra portion pertaining to the test. Discounts apply when ordering more than 2+ tests.
