Combatting IBS

The Brain In Your Gut

Within the walls of your digestive system resides what some people call “the brain in your gut.” This “brain” is the enteric nervous system or ENS, and it is revolutionising the medical understanding of the interconnectedness of the human body, specifically between digestive and emotional health.
The ENS lines the entire gastrointestinal tract and consists of over 100 million nerve cells. This system uses various neurotransmitters to communicate between the gut and brain. In other words, just like the brain influences mood and cognitive function, so does the digestive system.
For example, 95% of serotonin, a hormone responsible for happiness, is housed in the gut. Therefore, a chemical imbalance within the gut negatively affects the risk of severe and chronic depression. (This is important to note when addressing digestive dysfunctions and gut-related illnesses.)
In the past, anxiety, and depression were thought to single-handedly cause digestive discomfort, but studies have since revealed it goes the other way around as well. Instead, the gastrointestinal issues are also breeding these emotional difficulties.
So, what can be done?

A Comprehensive Treatment That Will Change Your Life

This new understanding of the gastrointestinal tract, enteric nervous system, and the central nervous system has provided more holistic treatment options for those suffering from digestive disorders, such as IBS.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS, is one of the most common functional digestive disorders and plagues much of the population worldwide (around 11%, though this number is likely to be higher since many are not diagnosed properly with IBS). It is characterised by a cluster of symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhoea, constipation, and other digestive issues. It’s so broad range that the impact of IBS ranges from a mere inconvenience to severe disability.
Reports estimate that around 11% of the population worldwide suffers from IBS in their lifetime, yet only 5-7% of them receive the proper diagnosis. Out of these many people who suffer, most of them are female.
With this growing body of gut-brain research, there are stronger possibilities for treatment, cure, and maintenance of many GI disorders, including IBS, with the help of functional medicine and we need to share the word about what can be done.
In order to help those suffering from IBS, I have created this combatting IBS book, so as to help you learn how to better understand, recover from, and prevent IBS. You will gain the tools, resources, and knowledge to combat IBS and truly take control of your health!

Why do I do this work?

My mission is to share the TRUTH!
I cannot sit back and allow our community to be misled and suffer when there is so much we can do to help ourselves feel better.
My goal is to make our community one of the healthiest places to live in the world.
I personally was suffering from what I now know is IBS when I was growing up, which concluded in a big health crisis in 2003, when I was studying in Milan at the time. Somehow doctors were not able to identify what was creating the intense physical pain I was experiencing daily for about a month, and it is only by "chance" that I was able to relieve my symptoms over time. Looking back now, I know that I started to curb out the foods that were creating pain slowly, and that it was what helped me over time to reduce the pain, discomforts, and symptoms I was experiencing.
I know firsthand and secondhand (with my clients) how the techniques and knowledge I share can impact positively our health, that is why I am so passionate about sharing what I know in any shape or form.
But to make this work more impactful, I need your help…
I need the support of everyone who is part of this community, leaders in our community, and anyone who is sick and tired of being sick and tired.
One way you can help is by inviting the people you care about most to check out my work over at and in the Academia. Over the years, I have created a lot of resources that you will find helpful: from free articles and monthly webinars, to books, online courses and programs.
The information in this book is guaranteed to be life-changing if you are suffering from IBS and I cannot wait to hear how it helped you take control of your IBS.

What is included?

As I mentioned previously, you will get:

(1) 49 Pages Book

I summarise in this book what is IBS but also how you can take charge of it. I include links to additional resources throughout the document as well.
